Martin Webrant
Martin was born and raised in Lomma, a small village in the absolute flat parts of southern Sweden. Not really the best place for skiing, if you're lucky there´s snow three days a year and ten centimeters is a lot! At the age of four, his Mom put him on skis for the first time, and he was hooked. The yearly family ski-trip was the highlight of every year. Unluckily, with 800 km to the closest ski area, he had to be satisfied with only one week a year of skiing. He soon decided that after finally graduating school, this was forever to be changed.
At the age of nineteen he left his hometown and headed north. Spending a year at the ski-instructor academy in Åre, Sweden, "fine tuning" his skiing technique. After the days in Åre, he knew for sure that he was on the right track. With the desire to catch up lost time, after all those snowless winters back home, and with huge cravings for the deep and steep, Martin started ski-bumming.
Nowadays he spends his winters searching for the white gold and untracked faces around the European Alps. After having the Alps as his playground for several winters, he has now become a powerful big mountain skier, with a special need for speed. With his clean style and big turns, he´s progressed into riding in front of the camera as a ski-model, with numerous published photos in ski magazines throughout the world. And when seeing Martin charge down the mountain on his Megawatts, one would never believe that he was grown up without snow and mountains within reach.
