Jacopo Bufacchi
As a youngster, Jacopo was a Junior Italian Champion in ski racing, and well on his way to the national team. But instead of becoming the next ‘La Bomba' Tomba, Jacopo decided to take his skills to the big hills. He’s gone on to become a certified mountain guide in Courmayer, and one of the most popular freeriders in Italy and perhaps all of Europe.
With an aggressive yet controlled style, Jacopo uses his incredible insight of the mountains to find the good snow and steep lines. And since he’s done his time in races, he’s decided to stay away from the contest scene and just spend his time in the powder and big mountains that call to him. He’s ripped all over the Alps, as wells as on some huge peaks in Peru, Canada, Alaska and Russia.
Photos of him skiing the goods have appeared in renowned magazines such as GQ, Powder and Freeride Italy. This season looks to be more of the same, with the highlights to be a Discovery Channel TV show about freeriding and a ski descent of the holy Mt. Fuji in Japan.
