Nick De Vore

Nick De Vore likes to look at life a bit differently than other skiers. The main reason, of course, is that he skis some of the world's steepest, deepest and most technical terrain on telemark gear. The other reason is that he's there to spread love and inspiration as well
This 21-year-old Aspen, Colorado native is widely regarded as the world's top telemarker, and may just be carrying the flame for the future of this sport. Nick has been on the podium at almost every Freeski Event he's entered, often competing against fixed-heel skiers, and shattering the conventional wisdom of what's possible in free-heel skiing.
But it's the wild mountains that draw Nick. This summer, he skied (or should we say 'ripped') down the Orient Express Route of Alaska's highest peak, Denali (6000m). He also skied from 15 summits of 14,000-foot (4240m) peaks in his home state of Colorado, including the classic North Face of the North Maroon Peak.
A passionate yogi, Nick believes that through a strong mind/body connection, he can be free to truly free-heel surf gravity and live a well-rounded, sustainable lifestyle. When not traveling the globe in search of big mountains and deep powder, Nick can be found slacklining over a gorge or crocheting hats (check www.senseistiches.com for more on the hats).
And this winter in Snowbird, Utah- Nick will be competing against the world's best freeriders at the US National Freeskiing Championships. After this event, perhaps even the IFSA will be looking at life differently!
